A metal cold transverse rolling assembly forms profiles using pairs of rolling rods or round rolling tools to form a symmetrical circular work piece such as straight or angled teeth, spiral teeth with grooves, threads or knurled surfaces. The tool consists of a block (4) with a grip rolling face (6) sub-divided into a preliminary zone (7) with profiled teeth, and a progressively deep calibration zone (8).
